Mission & Interests
Goals: Greenpeace is a global non-profit network using non-violent direct action to confront the systems that threaten nature. Greenpeace’s income comes from more than 3 million of individuals & a few charitable foundations. We are not compromised in who or what we campaign for or against. GP aims to protect & conserve nature & to promote peace by investigating, exposing & confronting environmental abuse, challenging the political and economic powers that can effect change, driving economically responsible & socially just solutions that offer hope for current & future generations, & inspire people to take responsibility for the planet. Greenpeace European Unit monitors the work of the EU institutions, exposes deficient EU policies & laws, challenges EU decision-makers to act responsibly in the public interest & to implement progressive solutions. The Unit confronts industry lobbies that undermine environmental protection in the pursuit of their short-term financial interests.
