Mission & Interests
Goals: GCERF is the only international organisation dedicated to preventing violent extremism. Its mission is to support local, community-level initiatives aimed at strengthening resilience against violent extremist agendas. GCERF and the community-led interventions it supports, contribute to the implementation of the UN Global Counterterrorism Strategy and the UN Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism, and ensure that the policy frameworks developed by the Global Counterterrorism Forum are implemented at the local level. GCERF fully aligns its work with Agenda 2030 with a specific focus on SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), as well as SDGs 1, 4, 5, 8, 10. As a public-private partnership, GCERF is an example of an innovative partnership, SDG 17.
