Goals: The scope of GERG covers any scientific activity regarding research, development, demonstration and information exchange issues relevant to the energy and gas sector in Europe, including all parts of the value chain: supply, transmission, storage, distribution and utilisation. Within the above mentioned scope, in a spirit of equality amongst all Members and on a principle of consensus, the objectives of GERG are: • to promote R&D priorities and projects of the Members and the larger energy stakeholders in Europe, in particular on the topics of reduction of methane emissions and development of green gases (hydrogen, biomethane). • to promote more effective cooperation between members through cooperative research projects and exchange of information, within the limits of competition law.
