Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: The FTTH Council Europe is directing its influencing efforts towards shaping EU policies on connectivity, with a primary focus on harmonizing regulations to facilitate expansion of VHCN. These endeavours are in alignment with the Digital Decade connectivity objectives, which aim that European households attain high-speed internet coverage by 2025 and gigabit connectivity by 2030. Given the direct correlation between these ambitious EU goals and the mission of the FTTH Council Europe, the organization is monitoring all policy initiatives in this realm, such as the Gigabit Infrastructure Act and the Digital Networks Act.
Communication Activities: • The areas where FTTH Council Europe operates are detailed in its position papers, including, for instance, the following: o FTTH Adoption: A Key Policy Challenge for Europe o Draft Gigabit Connectivity Recommendation o Gigabit Infrastructure Act o Recommendations in view of the Informal Ministerial Meeting on Telecommunications FTTH Council Europe has submitted several submissions to public consultations including, for example, the following: o EC Consultation on the future of the electronic communications sector and its infrastructure o 2024 BEREC Work Programme
