Goals: nucleareurope is the Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear industry in Europe. Our membership is currently composed of 15 national nuclear associations and 6 corporate members. As a result, we represent nearly 3,000 European companies working in the industry which support around 1,100,000 jobs.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: nucleareurope activities are currently focusing on the following EU topics: the EU Energy Union, the New Energy Market Design, the follow-up of the Paris Agreement and the EU Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) reform, and the Sustainable Finance initiative. nucleareurope also covers nuclear-specific issues such as the Illustrative Nuclear Programme (PINC), the revision of the Euratom Treaty – Art 41 to 44 requirements, the implementation of the radioactive waste and the nuclear safety Directives and the topics of radiation protection and emergency preparedness. It is also actively involved in the European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF).

Communication Activities: nucleareurope provides information and expertise on the role of nuclear . To do so, it produces position papers, newsfeeds, responses to public consultations, analyses of public opinion, infographics (http://www.nucleareurope.eu/publications/) etc. It also organises regular networking events like dinner debates, workshops, one-on-one meetings, press briefings, visits to nuclear facilities etc.
