Mission & Interests

Goals: Villa Maraini is the National Agency for Addictions of the Italian Red Cross and one of the leading organization in Italy active in the field of substance abuse treatment and care. Founded in 1976, it offers a wide range of services and programmes for people affected by drug and/or alcohol addiction and their families, reaching more than 3.000 people annually. These services include residential and semi-residential therapeutic communities, outpatient treatment programmes, a clinic centre for pharmacological therapies, outreach street units, emergency unit, drop-in centre and night shelter, support activities for drug offenders in prison and in alternative measures to detention. The Foundation is open 24 hours every day of the year, including Sundays and holidays.
