Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: FGV Europe's Priorities and Requests to the European Parliament Introduction FGV Europe, as a key player in fostering academic and economic cooperation between Brazil and Europe, presents its priorities and requests to the European Parliament. Our aim is to enhance mutual understanding, collaboration, and sustainable development across both regions. 1. Strengthening Academic Partnerships FGV Europe calls for increased support in facilitating academic exchanges, joint research projects, and scholarship programs between European and Brazilian institutions. Enhanced funding and streamlined visa processes for students, researchers, and professors will foster a robust academic network that drives innovation and cultural exchange. 2. Promoting Sustainable Development We urge the European Parliament to prioritize sustainable development initiatives that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Collaborative projects in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and environmental conservation will benefit both regions. We request the Parliament to support policies that encourage green investments and technology transfers to Brazil. 3. Enhancing Economic Cooperation To boost economic ties, FGV Europe seeks the European Parliament’s backing for trade agreements that reduce tariffs and non-tariff barriers, particularly for sectors like agriculture, technology, and services. We advocate for policies that promote fair trade and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accessing international markets. 4. Supporting Digital Transformation In the digital age, FGV Europe emphasizes the importance of cooperation in the digital economy. We request the European Parliament to support initiatives that promote digital literacy, cybersecurity, and innovation. Collaborative efforts in developing digital infrastructure and regulatory frameworks will drive economic growth and inclusion. 5. Fostering Social and Cultural Exchange FGV Europe believes in the power of social and cultural exchange to strengthen bilateral relations. We ask the European Parliament to endorse programs that support cultural diplomacy, language learning, and social projects that bridge gaps between our societies. These initiatives will foster mutual respect and understanding. 6. Addressing Global Challenges Together In the face of global challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and geopolitical tensions, FGV Europe advocates for a united approach. We seek the European Parliament’s commitment to international cooperation and multilateralism. Joint efforts in research, public health, and crisis management will enhance our resilience and collective well-being.
