Mission & Interests

Goals: Created in 1978 in the main objective of representing the French organic farmers, FNAB remains to this day the only professional farmers network specialised in organic farming in France. It consists of one national federation, and of local and regional groups covering the whole French territory, with 10000 members and more than 300 employees. As one of the first members of IFOAM (the international federation of organic agriculture movements), FNAB has always been involved in international and European discussions and debates. FNAB decided in 2014 to reinforce its presence at the European level.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: FNAB could possibly follow every regulation or regulation project conccerning agriculture, food or feed sector. Its main current issues at the european level are: the ongoing revision of the organic farming regulation, the CAP implementation, the revision of the seed directive, the GMO regulation, the PPP regulation, the fertilizer regulation and new breeding technics.
Communication Activities: FNAB works mainly through IFOAM EU group and does not organize directly european public events.
