The GWG holds 3 meetings a year in different international locations where you can freely discuss all issues. A perfect opportunity to network with industry leaders. The GWG holds several free seminars during the year in different international locations where, as a member, you can participate as an attendee or as a presenter. Since its inception, the GWG has successfully produced and made available free, by download, specifications for the use of PDF and PDF/X-PLUS in a variety of vertical graphic arts segment applications.
The GWG has also the Ghent Output Suite, widely used to test the ability of workflows to correctly handle PDF files in production. Additionally, the GWG has published many white papers and instructional documents to help members and the industry understand many of the issues that affect graphic arts production.
Members meet twice a year for face-to-face “Interop” events, where technical tutorials are regularly provided for new members, and working groups can meet and discuss topics that are best discussed in person. Furthermore, Interops provide an opportunity for members to test systems in development with other members in a private, yet very welcoming and informative environment. In addition to the specifications of the CIP4 provides a variety of resources to its members and the industry, including:
• Software development kits
• Software testing systems
• Utilities such as CheckJDF, JDF Editor and EasyXJDF
• International Users’ Groups
• The JDF Marketplace — a director of products and services that support JDF and PrintTalk
• The JDF Integration Matrix — a reference to working integration partnerships for printers
• User case studies
CIP 4 is dealing with print automation and presenting – making of Specifications & Tools for the print industry
