Under Horizon 2020, FEUP is/has been a partner in 35 funded projects (Marine UAS, BRIDGES, ICI-THROUGH, IN2RAIL, HYDRALAB-PLUS, FAME, ANTAREX, HEAT-SHIELD, RISEN, PRINTCR3DIT, LIQUEFACT, PRINT-AID, OPTICON, SERA, SimuSafe, InnoDC, IN2STEMPO , OptiMACS, PROSEU, SPRINT, RE-CITY, IN2TRACK2, RECLAIM, TREAL, LIKE, EuroSea, CHAMELEONS, MOVING TOGETHER, BugWright2, EMPOWER, NEWFRAC, GROOM II, REMARO, IN2TRACK3 and ORP) and is/has been the coordinator of 10 other funded projects (SDIN, SmartHELMET, GOTSolar, EUMarineRobots, DelNAM, SED, SurfSAFE, 112CO2 and TEMPEST).
Concerning other international funds, since 2014 until the present day, FEUP has also been very successful in programmes such as: EEA Grants (4 funded projects as coordinator and 6 as partner), COST (1 Coordinated action, 16 actions as participant), ECHO (2 projects funded as Partner), CEF (1 project funded as Partner), Interreg (1 project funded as Coordinator, 16 projects funded as Partner), ERA-NET/COFUNDS (6 projects funded as Coordinator and 12 projects funded as Partner), RFCS (2 projects funded as Partner), UCPM (3 projects funded as Partner) and EIT Manufacturing (participation in 11 projects as coordinator and in 16 projects as partner). Furthermore, FEUP is the coordinator of a pilot project of EIT HEI Initiative - Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education (INVENTHEI) and its follow-up project (Deep INVENTHEI).
Communication Activities: FEUP has captivated funding for many projects under the Horizon Europe and the former Horizon 2020 programmes of the European Commission. The visibility of these projects is, and has been, capitalised via strong communication activities. These following projects, coordinated by FEUP, represent just a few eminent examples: GOTSolar, EUMarineRobots, DelNAM, SurfSAFE, 112CO2. The information about these and other projects referred in the previous section can be easily consulted in the CORDIS portal of the European Commission. Overall, FEUP has a dedicated institutional Image and Communication Unit (ICOM) with whom the Research and Innovation Support Unit (INOV) collaborates closely in order the EU funding opportunities as well as approved projects would be duly communicated and notable results disseminated within the institition.
