Mission & Interests
Goals: The Europeana Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation that, as part of the Europeana Initiative, empowers the cultural heritage sector in its digital transformation.
We work closely with the Europeana Network Association and the Europeana Aggregators Forum to promote the use of digital technology that makes cultural heritage online accessible, traceable and trustworthy, which in turn means people can explore it, use it and learn from it. We develop expertise, tools and policies to embrace digital change and encourage partnerships that foster innovation. We make it easier for people to use cultural heritage for education, research, creation and recreation. Our work contributes to an open, knowledgeable and creative society.
The Europeana Foundation stewards the common European data space for cultural heritage.
