Mission & Interests
Goals: EUNIS is the European University Information Systems Organization. It was formed in 1993. It was registered as a non-profit organization in Paris, France in 1998.
EUNIS brings together those who are responsible for the management, development and the policy for Information Technology in Higher Education in Europe. The objective of EUNIS is to contribute to the development of high quality information systems. To achieve this, the aims of EUNIS are:
- encourage exchange, cooperation and debates between those responsible for information systems in higher education or research institutes/organizations within Europe;
- establish relationships with supervisory organizations in charge of information systems in hig her education and in research institutes in each country as well as at European level.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: All subjects related to the use, development and initiatives linked to the use of Information technologies in Higher Education. EUNIS wants also to help universities in Europe to work together to answer to all EU initiatives and calls in these fields.
Communication Activities: EUNIS sends regularly a newsletter to its members, organizes seminars and meetings for its task forces. EUNIS also organizes an annual congress and publishes scientific papers related to its activities. See the web site.
EUNIS cooperates with other European and international associations, including, but not only: EUA, GEANT (France), UCISA (UK), euroCRIS, Vietsch Foundation, XR4Europe and EDUCAUSE (in the USA). It is also involved in consultations for the Digital Education Unit at the European Commission.
