Goals: The ESRF is an international user-based research infrastructure serving >10,000 researchers per year with access to high intensity synchrotron X-rays and is an ESFRI Landmark. With a brand-new generation of high-energy synchrotron, the ESRF is the world's brightest X-ray source and a centre of excellence for fundamental and innovation-driven research in condensed and living matter science. Located in Grenoble, France, the ESRF owes its success to the international cooperation of 21 partner countries.

Complementary Information: EU representation is a modest scale activity at ESRF. We use the grants office staff as expected in terms of understanding EU research policy and framework programme funding, and participate in framework programme information meetings and such like as organised by the EC. The number of staff involved is around 5, but at a very modest % of time (less than the minimal 10% which can be indicated in the forms).
