Goals: ES-SO is a not-for-profit organization to Belgian Law (ES-SO vzw) established in Brussels. It is the umbrella organisation of the professional solar shading associations in the various Member States of the EU. Info Members: Solar shading is a cost efficient passive cooling technology of the building envelope;shading saves energy and reduces GHG in buildings. Solar shading helps in combatting the growing problem of overheating due to climate change and changed construction methods. Solar shading helps to bring thermal (avoiding overheating) and visual comfort (avoiding glare) in buildings; contributes to a healthy indoor climate for the occupants/users. Solar shading is an important solution for energy efficiency savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Renovation Wave Strategy of the EU and in general of the green deal policies of the EU Commission.
