Mission & Interests
Goals: The ESTP is a non-profit of researchers and physicians. The objectives of the Society are:
(B) To advance new and original research on tattoos in man including any aspect of pigment research, the production and use of inks, machines for application and auxiliaries
(C) To deliver independent expert advice to public institutions and other parties who may request so.
(D) To educate the medical community and any group of tattoo industry professionals in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of adverse events, known risks and unforeseen hazards associated with tattoos and tattooing;
(E) To advance, nationally and across national borders, the manufacturing, distribution and sales of safer or safe tattoo ink products
(F) To act as advocate of persons or patients who developed or potentially may develop complications or adverse reactions through tattooing.
(G) To develop and support research projects, guidelines and publications of any kind

Communication Activities: As part of the scientific and educational congresses held by the ESTP, the restriction and its current effects are presented and discussed:
- market surveillance problems
- effects on the reduction of adverse effects
- changes in ink composition
- toxicological implications of ink components
- possible improvements
- health effects and concerns

Complementary Information: All covered activities are carried out by non-payed board members in a non-profit society. Any annual costs are only for the secretary maintenance of the society and our congresses for knowledge sharing and not for any activities regarding the EU.
We do not have any office in Brussels or elsewhere since we do not have employes. Travel costs for the covered activities are well below 10.000 €.

Is Member Of: Die Mitglieder der ESTP sind zum überwiegenden Teil natürliche Personen. Juristische Personen (Organisationen) können mit einem Beitrag von aktuell 150 € für 3 Jahre (Stand 2023) ebenfalls Mitglied werden, haben aber kein Wahlrecht und können nicht in den Vorstand gewählt werden.
