Goals: EOPSA’s mission is to bring together key onshore power supply players in order to promote innovation, speed up installations, advocate for global solutions and reciprocal adoption along shipping routes.

Onshore power supply is also known as Cold Ironing, Shore-Side Electricity, Shore Connection, Alternative power supply.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: EOPSA will be working with the EU around AFIR, Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive, in particular:
Articles 2, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 19, Annex II: 4.2 and 4.2 etc. referring to :
Onshore power supply is defined as “shore-side electricity”.
Electricity for OPS is defined as “alternative fuel for zero-emission vehicle”.
AFIR and OPS installation + national inclusion.

The initiative emphasizes the deployment of OPS in the member states, elaborating from AFIR.
FuelEU maritime rather gives a push on the shipowner side.
