Mission & Interests

Goals: Die Europäische Living Lakes-Vereinigung ELLA (European Living Lakes Association) vereint Organisationen der Zivilgesellschaft für den Schutz und die nachhaltige Nutzung aquatischer Ökosysteme und der damit verbundenen biologischen Vielfalt. ELLA richtet sich an alle Akteure in Seenregionen, von lokalen und regionalen Behörden über Unternehmen bis hin zu zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen und wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen. ELLA setzt sich aktiv für den Naturschutz, die Landschaftspflege, die Eindämmung des Klimawandels sowie den Küsten- und Hochwasserschutz ein. In diesem Zusammenhang sind auch ländliche Entwicklung, nachhaltige Landwirtschaft und der Schutz der Biodiversität von zentraler Bedeutung, sodass unterschiedliche politische und rechtliche Aspekte berücksichtigt werden.
