Goals: The European Fire Safety Alliance is an independent alliance of fire professionals and exists to reduce the risk from fire. Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: - The Fire Information Exchange Platform (FIEP) - Develop knowledge and competency to ensure fire safety adequately accompanies the energy transition. - Address the fire risks associated with the new forms of energy and ensure regular inspections. - Stimulate (or foster) scientific research on improving the fire safe behaviour of people and the effectiveness of interventions in the field of Community Fire Safety. - Closing data gaps and paving the way for Pan-European fire safety efforts - Harmonised European fire statistics - Improve EU-wide communication and collaboration on fire safety - Realise better cooperation between the Member States and industry on market surveillance. - Improve and increase the use of fire-safe upholstered furniture and mattresses through the introduction of an EU-standard for end-use products. - Ensure that smoke detectors have a much broader application in European homes. If people are not able to escape quickly enough or cannot escape at all, install domestic sprinklers as they are an indispensable solution in these circumstances. - Evaluate and improve the functioning of Lower Ignition Propensity (LIP) cigarettes.

Other Source Info: The Alliance is supported by the Fire Service Academy (NIPV)/Dutch Burns Foundation and forms an independent alliance of fire professionals that does not support any individual fire safety product / technology /commercial organization. The Alliance is 100% funded by the DBF who collects earmarked donations from technical partners, without quid pro quo, so EuroFSA acts independent on all subjects.
