Goals: EFBA is an association of European Union member states involved in the production of compound fertilisers blended by using various nutrients in a number of regional factories. EFBA aims at : - Representing the common interests of fertiliser blenders at government level, such as the European Union in Brussels - Exchanging knowledge and information on fertilisers - Performing common actions to improve the quality of blended fertilisers and developp competitive and sustainable agriculture - Carrying out studies in order to optimise economical and technical handling

Main EU Legislative Proposals: - European regulation on fertilising products - European regulation on Classification Labelling and - Packaging of substances and mixtures (raw materials, micronutrients including borates) - European regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) - Development of standards for fertilisers - European regulation on explosive precursors

Communication Activities: EFBA published a handbook on fertiliser blends available in three languages (english, french and german). EFBA has drawn up standards for desirable granule sizes for quality blends.
