Mission & Interests

Goals: The European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, known as EuroCham, has the mission to represent the common interests of the European business community in promoting bilateral trade, services and investments between Europe and Singapore and Asia-Pacific. EuroCham is a non-profit membership fee based organization with a membership composed of the European National Business Groups in Singapore as well direct corporate members. EuroCham provides its members with an information and exchange forum and a lobbying channel to Singaporean and European political & economic circles. EuroCham is the sole European representative at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Council.

Main EU Legislative Proposals: EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA), Financial & tax regulations, Illicit trade policies, EU Singapore Digital Trade Agreement
Communication Activities: The Sustainability programme includes two ediation of the Sustainability white-book (2020/2021 and 2022/2023)about regulatory issues in Singapore and launch of European Excellence in Sustainability Programme which includes position papers and white-book on the main areas like Circular Economy, Smart Mobility, Clean & Efficient Energy, Sustainable Food & Nutrition, Green Finance, Sustainability and innovation, Sustainable Transportation and REnewable and efficient Energy. The Digital Economy Whitebook. With the Digital Trade Agreement (DTA)being in negotiation and EUSDP having been signed – as well as investment in technological infrastructure, and encouragement of digital literacy, have set the stage for a future where the digital economy thrives on a global scale. Choosing digital economy (and digital transformation) as the focal point for our Whitebook in 2023 reflects the growing role of technology-driven strategies in shaping contemporary business landscapes. Recent business trends underscore an accelerating shift towards digitalisation and innovation, as companies worldwide strive to remain competitive and resilient in an ever-evolving market. In parallel, Singapore and the European Union have independently pursued comprehensive digitalisation policies aimed at fostering economic growth, enhancing efficiency, and stimulating innovation. The Future of Healthcare & Wellbeing programme highlights increasingly complex challenges faced by the healthcare sector. Comprised of a series of activities covering the three areas of Healthcare & Innovation, Healthy Lifestyle & Wellbeing and Healthy & Sustainable Food. The future of Movement programme addresses how technology and innovation coupled with new transportation capacity can help reduce global gridlock. Three topic pillars covered are Urban Mobility (movement of people), Transportation (movement of goods) and Logistics (fleet and supply chain). These pillars are addressed through three pillars of activities such as webinars, closed door meetings and reports. Sustainable Air Travel Programme - According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), aviation is responsible for 3 per cent of global carbon dioxide emissions. This may not seem like a lot, but while most economic sectors are shrinking their carbon footprint, aviation’s is rising.
