Goals: ECETOC is a scientific, non-profit making, non-commercial trade association with a mission to act as an independent, peer-reviewed technical resource to all concerned with the identification of research needs and provision of scientific rationale for the assessment of health effects and environmental impact. An independent organisation established in 1978 to provide a scientific forum through which the extensive specialist expertise of manufacturers and users could be harnessed to research, review, assess and publish studies on the ecotoxicology and toxicology of chemicals.

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Centers of interest: REACH, Environment, health, chemicals, toxicology & ecotoxicology of chemicals, circular economy, water, waste, sustainability, pesticides, biocides, climate change, agriculture, land and soil biodiversity, research & innovation Bilateral meetings with EU Commission representatives to suggest scientific proposals for regulatory safety assessments for chemicals. Attendance in workshops DG Env, DG Grow, DG RTD Observer role in CARACAL: Competent Authorities for REACH and CLP (CARACAL) CARACAL is an expert group which advises the European Commission and ECHA (European chemicals agency) on questions related to REACH and CLP. Observer role Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) and the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) .
