Mission & Interests
Goals: Since its foundation in October 1994, the European Automotive Services and Repairers Association, hereafter called "Easra", has been the leading organization for family-run enterprises engaged in providing high quality maintenance and repair services.
Easra is a not-for-profit French association registered under n° W751119461, that has been awarded by the European Commission in 1997 for being a model of good practice in promoting transnational co-operation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the EUROMECANIC’ project.
Easra experts are pleading for a "win-win for all players" approach. Garanteeing a level playing field for SMEs is the key to improving European competitiveness of the automotive industry. The old model of business relationships of manufacturers with their distributors or with independent aftermarket enterprises governed by suspicion, fierce and squeeze is not only unsustainable for SMEs but also for economic recovery, especially in these tough times.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: Herafter are detailed with full titles, our national member association contributions on the most recent EU initiatives, policies and (legislative/non-legislative) files targeted by your interest representation activities, including roadmaps, public consultations, directives, regulations and decisions. However, from now on, our national member associations have too much work on their national level helping SMEs to face these tough times of crisis, so that they decide that Easra experts have to represent directly them on the European level following up and sending their position on the European policies and legislative/non-legislative files where they have already been active, in particular for competition crucial issues as Easra experts have experience and competences on Competition rules. These Easra experts have been preparing, collecting cases and drafting the former national member associations’ position, i.e. DBR and FNA, for many years.
