Mission & Interests
Goals: Founded in 1992, the European Association of Economic Development Agencies brings together professionals working on regional development in Europe. During more than three decades EURADA has been supporting the internationalisation of regional and local development agencies; they can network, advocate, and participate at both EU and international level.
A Development Agency is an entity that carries out an territorial development mission characterised by the search of the collective or overall interest of a specific area (and not corporative or sectorial), and that is significantly linked with a local, metropolitan or regional authority with respect to management, financing or missions. A Development Agency is a designated public meeting place and/or orchestrator of local stakeholders with a dynamic structure oriented to support the innovation ecosystems. EURADA is their European well-established facility.

Every autumn AGORADA+ takes place in one of the members' territories to discuss and see in practice successful implementations of regional economic policies.
EURADA organises an annual brokerage event in March-April to help the members and any other development agencies of Europe to find suitable partners for their project ideas. An annual winter school in February in cooperation with OECD is organised since 2023, aiming at deepening the knowledge of the regions and territories and a forum for members of the association can discuss place-based policy evolution. A summer course in the first week of July helps the members to acquire the skills to prepare successful proposals for Horizon and other competitive programmes.
EURADA participates as partner in several projects and tenders: EuropeAid TAMSALL, European Cluster Collaboration Platform Service Contract, HORIZON PROTECT, HORIZON RAISE, H2020 POCITYF, H2020 Agro2Circular, ERASMUS + ALLVIEW, H2020 FRONTSH1P, HORIZON CLIMAAX, HORIZON ToBe, Harnessing Talent Service Contract, HORIZON K-CCRI, Hackathon Championship.
Those projects help facilitate the exchange of knowledge on support for SMEs, improve policymaking in SME policy instruments embedded in EU territories, and refines EU Research and Innovation Strategies (RIS3) to join up different economic actors with an aim of increasing innovation. EURADA participates as well in European tenders and service contracts that make valuable contributions to its membership.
