Mission & Interests
Goals: The European Access Academy (EAA) was founded in 2021 with the aim to support a successful implementation of the EU HTA Regulation.
Biannual full-day (virtual or physical) meetings with ~250 participants are conducted to cover key challenges within the European access environment. The agenda aims to discuss the key EU HTA challenges and to develop suggested approaches to overcome them.
EAA Proceedings and scientific articles are published after each convention and are all available @ www.euaac.org.
The EAA Faculty is in charge of the overall EAA strategy, the scientific integrity, and supports the EAA secretariat e.g. with editorial work. It was established gradually and is in place since Q1 2023.

Communication Activities: The EAA has an extensive communications and dissemination concept that is developed with and endorsed by the EAA Faculty and includes social media coverage; geographically diverse convention meetings; print media and internet presence:
Two physical/ hybrid EAA meetings per year are scheduled and carefully prepared with strategic & operational input by the EAA Faculty. Envisioned location for the EAA meetings is a different European University for each meeting. The Agenda is split into a public session with live stream on social media and a working session – by invitation – addressing ‘hot topics’ of the EU HTA regulation. Meeting proceedings are published after each convention (ISSN 2813-3390; see www.euaac.org). In addition, scientific publications are derived from each of the meetings. Initial meetings took place at Copenhagen University (May 2022) and at Vlerick Business School (October 2022). The EAA Spring Convention in April 2023 took place in The Netherlands (Utrecht University); the Fall Convention on Oct 18/19th 2023 at the Agència de Qualitat i Avaluació Sanitàries de Catalunya (AQuAS) in Barcelona. The Spring Convention 2024 will take place at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

The EAA Conventions in 2022 and Spring 2023 each reached an audience of >200 attendees from >20 countries plus recordings are available on the EAA website and youtube channel.
Each issue of the EAA Proceedings is available for download from the EAA website and as hardcopy (200 copies per edition).

Organisation Members: The EAA Faculty is not a member of any associations, (con)federations, networks or other bodies. The relevant information for Vlerick Business School, which is hosting the EAA Faculty, is provided below:
1. Quality Assurance networks
Vlerick Business School is member of the three major international accreditation organisations and belongs to a select group of business schools worldwide that are accredited by these three international bodies that assess management education quality:
• EFMD and EFMD Global
EFMD is a network for schools and companies that aim to develop socially responsible leaders and managers looking for opportunities to connect.
• AACSB International
AACSB International is a global nonprofit association that connects educators, students, and business to achieve a common goal: to create the next generation of great leaders.
• AMBA - Association of MBAs
The Association of MBAs is the international MBA quality certification authority on postgraduate management education.
On a local level Vlerick Business School is also member of NVAO.
• NVAO - Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatie Organisatie
NVAO is a quality assurance agency that safeguards the quality of higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders by accrediting degree programmes and assessing the quality assurance of higher education institutions.
2. Management Education and/or Research Consortia
Vlerick Business School also participates in international business school consortia when these fit the strategy and enhance our strategic priorities and international reputation.
• ISBM - International Schools of Business Management Consortium
The ISBM consortium organises the International Teachers Program (ITP), the world’s leading faculty development programme. Other members in the consortium are a.o. Kellogg, HEC, Insead, IMD, Stockholm School of Economics, ISB, CEIBS, LBS, Bocconi and NYU.
• FOME – Future of Management Education Alliance
FOME is a global alliance of business schools shaping immersive and engaging online education.
• EIASM - European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management
EIASM is an international network for management research and teaching that includes more than 70,000 management scientists from all over the world.
• RRBM - Responsible Research in Business and Management Consortium
Vlerick Business School is a pioneering school in the RRBM consortium with a.o. Ross School of Business (University of Michigan), Singapore Management University, RSM, underscoring our efforts and achievements to promote responsible research.
• EDBAC – Executive DBA Council
The School is a member of EDBAC, a council that fosters excellence and innovation in executive doctoral degree programmes worldwide.
Besides, the Vlerick library is an active member of: (1) the Flemish Association of Libraries (VVBAD), (2) Elektron, the consortium of Flemish universities and research institutes for the joint acquisition of electronic resources and (3) OWB, a project group of VVBAD for library statistics and knowledge sharing. The library is also actively involved in the European Business Schools’ Librarians Group (EBSLG) with some 40 libraries of other European business schools.
