Main EU Legislative Proposals: Main activities: European policy affecting the competitiveness of manufacturing Industrial policy dialogue, consultations and specialist high level groups in DG Enterprise: - Key Enabling Technologies or ‘KETs’ High Level Group (advanced manufacturing) - Task Force for Advanced Manufacturing H2020 and European actions for innovation, including Public Private Partnerships, European Innovation Partnerships (raw materials, water etc) and Joint Technology Initiatives Technical and regulatory affairs, on standards, certification and harmonization: - Machinery Directive - Energy using Products EuP - Labelling (water and energy using products) - REACH - Electric motors in vacuum cleaners - European machinery certification systems e.g. PM10 - Artificial Intelligence - Outdoor Noise - Standardisation Strategy Civil Society dialogue on Trade topics, on regulatory convergence to reduce non-tariff barriers: - Bilateral trade agreements
Communication Activities: Main activities: Raising awareness among European policy makers about manufacturing and its contribution to the European economy including employment and essential products and services. Contributing expertise on industrial policy, by participation in consultations and specialist high level groups in DG Enterprise. Technical and regulatory affairs, on standards, certification and harmonization: • Machinery Directive • Energy using Products EuP • Labelling (water and energy using products) • REACH • Electric motors • European machinery certification systems e.g. PM10 • Artificial Intelligence • Standardisation Strategy Civil Society dialogue on Trade topics, on regulatory convergence to reduce non-tariff barriers: • Bilateral trade agreements. EUnited Cleaning links together manufactures of floor cleaning machines and high pressure cleaners for professional and industrial use. Key areas of interest are specific EU Directives, standardisation, and the improvement of international market statistics. EUnited Municipal Equipment provides a service of information exchange and dissemination for leading manufacturers of mobile machines that are used in municipalities and other public areas. These include companies manufacturing road sweepers, winter maintenance equipment and refuse collection vehicles for household and industrial waste. Standardisation, technical regulations and harmonisation are key areas of involvement. EUnited Vehicle Cleaning is the European Association of manufacturers of Vehicle cleaning machinery and equipment.
