Mission & Interests
Goals: Euknow is a Brussels based consultancy firm. Founded in 2010, euknow offers consulting services in a broad range of sectors covered by European policies and funding programmes, with a special attention to research, innovation, rural development and mobility.
Our activities revolve around four main axes: public funds, project support, policy and lobbying. We work either for individual companies or sectoral associations, including for instance the agricultural machinery industry or research centres and universities. Part of our mission is also to help research organisations in peripheral and mainly rural regions of Europe and of countries associated to the EU research programme (Horizon Europe) to develop their capacities and attract competences that are relevant for local innovation ecosystems. We have provided services to clients in different parts of Europe and third countries, including Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland and Turkey.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: Based on the interest of our clients, policies in the following sectors are relevant to our work:
- Policies related to agricultural machinery, in particular to standards on emissions of tractors and other moving machines (for the Italian Association of Agricultural Machinery producers, Federunacoma)
- Following the successful implementation of the Horizon 2020 ENABLING project, we are involved in the circular economy and in particular in the bioeconomy based on biomass or marine origin
- Connected to the Green Deal package, we follow closely the evolution of EU policies on circular economy (with specific interest on industrial recycling processes, secondary raw materials and data policies requirements to ensure traceability of materials used in industrial production)
- We are also interested in areas relating to the agrofood supply chain, with a special emphasis on the enhancement of bio and high quality regional products, on the promotion of short food supply chains including aspects related to the aggregation of offer through cooperative mechanisms.
- We are currently working in a project related to gender equality in five specific sectors of the blue economy. We are therefore following legislation and updates related to the sector, from the perspective of gender equality.
More in general, our interests in policies reflect the interest of our clients and it is an essential part of our work in framing research and innovation activities accordingly.
Communication Activities: We are partners of a project, WINBLUE, funded by the EMFAF programme, in which we work at good practices for gender equality in the maritime sectors and related economy.
For our clients, we provide regular updates in particular for areas of their interest and on the funding programmes that might be relevant to them.
Among these:
Updates on agriculture, farming and soil, in particular for providers of machinery and technologies
Updates on bioeconomy legislation and processes, with a special attention to bioeconomy in coastal areas based on biomass of marine origine
Updates on initiatives for better skills and for attracting talents, in particular in regions of moderate and modest innovation, on different subjects, such as energy and energy services, the built environment, the digitalisation of traditional sectors, the development of innovative value chains in the bioeconomy, etc
Updates on sustainable mobility, in particular to help support no-emission transport and the development of appropriate infrastructure, in particular in the field of cycling mobility
Updates on the blue economy with a special focus on gender equality issues
