Main EU Legislative Proposals: (a) Initiatives belonging in the framework of the EU Energy Union and the European Green Deal, such as: Fit for 55 Package (Renewable energy, EU ETS, Methane emissions, Hydrogen and decarbonized gas market, Carbon removals, FuelEU Maritime, Industrial emissions…); REPowerEU (e.g. Aggregate EU); Wind Power Action Plan; EU Grid Action Plan.(b) Initiatives linked to sustainable finance, governance, and reporting, such as: EU Taxonomy; Corporate Due Diligence; Corporate Sustainability Reporting and European Sustainability Reporting Standards. (c) Industrial policies (e.g. Net-Zero Industry Act). Related to the listed topics, senior leaders and experts of Equinor participated intuitu personae in working groups of the Conseil de Cooperation Economique (CCE), without Equinor being a member of the CCE.
Communication Activities: In 2023, Equinor engaged in public consultations, meetings, events, and sponsorships as part of its activities linked to the EU Transparency Register and to the EU policies mentioned above. Contributed to the following public consultations in 2023: - Public consultation on competitive bidding under the Innovation Fund - Consultation on Proposal for a Certificate of Carbon Removals - Review of electricity market design - Public consultation to inform Vision Communication - Public consultation Innovation Fund Market Survey - Electricity Market Design Ex-post proposal - Net Zero Industry Act Ex-post proposal - Competitive bidding - Questionnaire EU Climate Target for 2040 - Industrial Carbon Management Strategy
