Mission & Interests
Goals: Equimundo works to achieve gender equality and social justice by transforming intergenerational patterns of harm and promoting patterns of care, empathy and accountability among boys and men throughout their lives. We do this in four areas of work. EQUITY OF CARE. Working to achieve the equitable distribution of care. GENDER SOCIALIZATION. Promoting environments that support boys and young men to live out diverse, equitable and healthy masculinities. PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE. Working to prevent violence carried out by men and boys. THOUGHT LAB. Carrying out research on new and emerging themes related to masculinity, social justice, and structural inequality.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: N/A we have not focused on any specific policies yet. But we have a clear policy ask and invite for governments around the world where we list the following:
1. Establishing equal, fully paid, non-transferable parental leave for all parents, in addition to maternity leave and care days.
2. Providing state-supported, high-quality childcare that facilitates the full participation in economic activities for all working parents and caregivers.
3. Transforming health sector institutions to promote fathers’ involvement from the prenatal period through birth and childhood and men’s involvement as caregivers.
4. Establishing national care policies and campaigns that recognize, reduce, and redistribute care work equally between men and women.
5. Expanding social protection programs to redistribute care equally between women and men who are unemployed or working in the informal economy, while keeping a focus on the needs and rights of women and girls.
