Mission & Interests

Goals: EPRI Europe DAC was established by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) as its European research arm, and benefits from the wealth of experience, project knowledge and international network of EPRI. EPRI Europe DAC focuses on electricity generation, delivery, and use, provides technology, policy and economic analyses to drive long-range research and development planning, and supports research in emerging technologies. EPRI is a nonprofit scientific research organization headquartered in the United States and has collaborated with the electricity sector and its stakeholders since 1972, with participation extending to over 40 countries. The worldwide collaboration that supports EPRI’s work comprises more than 1,000 organizations. While most EPRI members are electric utilities, others are businesses; government agencies; regulators; and public or private entities engaged in some aspect of the generation, delivery, or use of electricity.

Main EU Legislative Proposals: EPRI Europe's engagement with the EU is concerning research and innovation for the electricity sector, in the context of "Horizon Europe". EPRI Europe DAC was founded in 2019 to promote science and research as a non-profit organisation and to conduct objective and independent energy and environmental research, development and demonstration projects, for the benefit of the public, to enhance the quality of life by making electric power safe, reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible

Complementary Information: Financial Statements as at 31/12/2022 is the most recent filed accounts. Work has commenced on the Financial Statements for 2023. H2020 projects (OneNet, eNeuron, HIPERWIND), Horizon Europe Projects (AGISTIN, MOPO, HVDC-WISE, Int:net): We received a total of €1,806,408.76 EU grants to date, this being €255,639.58 in 2020, €139,260.42 in 2021, €1,130,288.60 in 2022 and €281,220.16 in 2023. As the coordinator for the AGISTIN project we also received an additional €3,361,569.11 for distribution to other Consortium Beneficiaries in 2022. The projects listed above in both H2020 and Horizon Europe are ongoing and future funding is expected to be received relating to these projects.
