Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: EBG promotes interest of its Member Companies which are European corporates & Indo-European Joint Venture corporates where the dominant or critical control is with the European partner. We overall promote interests of our members across Europe India Corridor without any support from EU institution or do not influence any specific target policies. We have been promoting our member European companies under different sectors resolving their concerns or issues affecting relevant policies and regulations concerning particular member companies.
EBG has a longstanding support to EU-India relations for over 25 years, including the release of 21 consecutive Position Paper editions, facilitation of meetings with EU senior-level executives (with the exception of the last 2 years), assistance to our member companies with longstanding issues with Central and State Governments, and organization of regular events or sessions to provide a platform for our members to connect with government and non-government stakeholders and address their concerns directly.
We cover cross sectors including Agrochemicals, Aviation, Automotive, Alcoholic Beverages, Banking, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Defence, Energy - Oil and Gas & Power, Financial Services, FMCG, ICT, Logistics, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Railways, and Telecommunications.
Communication Activities: EBG organizes regular interactions with the Central and select State Governments. Given the current extraordinary circumstances post the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been organising webinars and in the very recent past physical events with very senior government functionaries, for our members to understand and respond, through an interactive dialogue to the challenges being faced by our members post COVID-19.
Our activities include amongst other things, an ongoing dialogue with the Government, Regulators, Chambers of Industry & Commerce, key media leaders, and Indian Industry to further encourage increased trade and investment flows between EU and India
We publish, what is now seen as a respected and important Annual “Position Paper” which highlights EBG’s views on required policy changes to facilitate and build on EU- India business. This Position Paper forms an integral part of the Annual EU- India Summit and is also an important reference point and base document for the European Commission and member countries in their bilateral deliberations with the Indian Government
