Mission & Interests

Goals: #DiasporaVote! is an initiative aiming at offering more representation and inclusion to racialised communities living in Europe. We encourage youths from the African diaspora and other racialised communities to get involved in the development of the EU policies by helping them understand how these policies shape their daily lives and by stimulating them to think of ways to improve their lives and that of others in Europe. Because our goal is for racialised communities to be more active in politics and vote, we support diaspora youths as they carry the voices of their local communities to the table of higher-level decision-makers.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: #DiasporaVote! operates as a safe space for all members from racialized communities to speak up, share and find solutions to issues faced by their local communities. We offer them a place to be themselves and get support from the same like-minded people. We educate diasporas members on their rights, the European policies and the EU institutions. By doing so, we help them better understand the environment in which they evolve; We also want to give the diaspora more opportunities when it comes to their implication in activism and politics at the local and global level. Our main policy targets are civic engagement; education; anti-racism; human rights; environment; gender equality & employment; youth & culture.
