Goals: Mit über 1,3 Millionen Mitgliedern ist der dbb die große deutsche Interessenvertretung für Beamte und Tarifbeschäftigte im öffentlichen Dienst und im privaten Dienstleistungssektor. Der dbb versteht sich als konstruktiver Reformpartner von Politik, Verwaltung und Gesellschaft und als tatkräftiger Interessenvertreter seiner Mitglieder. Complementary Information: A comparatively compact European Department has been established within the dbb beamtenbund und tarifunion. This is made up of the head of department, a specialist adviser and a secretary. The head of the department acts in his capacity as an EESC member and is distinguished by his rich portfolio of honorary posts. As a result, he is regularly present in Brussels and Strasbourg, with no financial burden for the federation. The European lobbying work otherwise manifests itself in the activities of the technical officer for Europe and International Affairs, who contributes his expertise on trips to the cities mentioned. These efforts create a valuable platform for direct interaction with key players and institutions at European level, which is ultimately reflected in the manageable annual lobbying costs of less than 10,000 euros for the dbb beamtenbund und tarifunion.
