In order to fulfil this aim, the DSTF serves primarily the following purposes:
• to foster the implementation of “Sturgeon 2020”-Strategy, as published by the DSTF in 2013,
• to provide a platform for exchange of information and experience on sturgeon conservation in the Danube Basin;

Info Members: The DSTF is a multi-stakeholder platform established as a Task Force under the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) aiming at the conservation of the critically endangered Danube sturgeon populations. It participates in and elaborates responses to public policy stakeholder consultations, organizes conferences and meetings and provides input to policy making. Its members all have links, professionally or otherwise, to activities relating to conservation of sturgeons in the Danube. They are scientific experts and/or have backgrounds in public administration or civil society organisations. The DSTF relies heavily on voluntary contributions from its members to the above activities and outputs. The numbers above reflect only the activities of DSTF directly in relation to the European Institutions. We estimate that the real contribution from the DSTF membership to the European policy objectives amounts to at least 3 additional full-time equivalents.
