Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: EU relations with Sri Lanka. Our aim is to bring to light and expose the human rights violations in Sri Lanka for the Tamil people, and the spreading militarization of Tamil Eelam by the Sinhalese regime. We plead for EU relations with Sri Lanka to be conditional on the improvement of human rights and the right to self-determination of Tamil Eelam.

1- We communicate regularly with Members of European Parliaments to ask them to publicly call for the release of all political prisoners in Tamil eelam. Such communication is done electronically and via an in-person meeting.
2- We communicate regularly with the EEAS asking them to publicly call for the release of all political prisoners in Sri Lanka. Such communication is done electronically and via an in-person meeting.
3- We are in constant communication with the EEAS ahead of their annual human rights dialogue with Sri Lanka where we provide information and updates to EEAS officials on cases and the current situation related to the status of human rights in Sri Lanka. Such communication is done electronically and via an in-person meeting.
4- We regularly attend the various hearings of the DORI committee and other committees of the European Parliament with the aim of dialogue and communication with various members of this committee on issues related to the status of human rights in Sri Lanka.
5- Organize several events and seminars online or in person sponsored by Members of European Parliaments. In these events and seminars, we raise several human rights challenges/violations occurring in Tamil Eelam and suggest recommendations on how to address these violations. We invite experts such as UN rapporteurs, Tamil Eelam activists, human rights experts
6- We organize campaigns on several issues related to human rights challenges and violations in Sri Lanka, such as: women's rights, political prisoners, migrant workers, torture, cultural rights, freedom of expression, freedom of expression, corruption, transparency and others. We call on Members of the European Parliament to participate and, in some cases, lead such campaigns.
7- We carry out several advocacy communications with the: Democracy support and European Parliament election coordination group. In particular, the important work of committees such as the Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) and the Development Committee (DEVE).
8- We advocate for the following EU policies or legislative proposals:
- EU Guidelines on Human Rights Defenders
- EU Accession to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR ), Protocol No 8 relating to Article 6(2) of the Treaty on European Union

- Legislative proposal to prevent and combat certain forms of gender-based violence.

- EU Action Plan against Racism 2020-2025.
