Mission & Interests

Goals: The Danish Seed Council is an independent entity established 1973. The purpose is to improve the seed producing framework in Denmark. This is done by being involved in legal and administrative processes and by setting the scene for overall R&D projects for the common benefit for seed growers and seed companies.

Communication Activities: Active participation in professional European Organizations in the seeds area - policy developent, letters, meetings etc. Take part in public hearings etc.

Is Member Of: The Danish Seed Council have only three members: 1) Danish Seed Association (15 companies active in plant breeding, seed production, marketing, gross and retail markets etc. in grass seeds, clover seeds, vegetables seeds, and beet seed) 2) Danish Seed Growers Association (more than 1,000 seed growers) 3) Danish Vegetable Seed Growers (approx. 150 growers) All seed production is performed through contracts so the Danish Seed Council represents nearly all seed production in grasses, clovers, vegetables and beet seed in Denmark.
