Mission & Interests
Goals: Cultural Survival advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights and supports Indigenous communities’ self-determination, cultures and political resilience since 1972. Cultural Survival envisions a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples' inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.
Cultural Survival works through a holistic strategy and wrap-around programming supporting Indigenous communities through advocacy, capacity building, and grant making. Thematically, we work through a rights-based approach on the nexus of climate change, land and livelihoods, community media, cultures and languages and the leadership of Indigenous women and youth as protagonists to achieve our collective self-determined future.
