Mission & Interests

Goals: The Corruption Tracker Project (“Tracker”, “CT”) aims to create an up-to-date, online tracker of cases and robust allegations of corruption in the global arms trade. We also produce analysis, advocacy and outreach based on our research. The Tracker is a collaborative project established in 2020 between the World Peace Foundation (“WPF”, Boston, M.A.), Shadow World Investigations (“SWI”, London, UK), and the Global Net Stop the Arms Trade (“GN-STAT”) at the Arms Information Centre (Freiburg, Germany).

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: We are primarily concerned with, - EU funding for military research and development - Implementation and development of the EU Common position on arms export controls and related legislation - EU anti-corruption legislation, transparency, and defence sector lobbying
Communication Activities: In 2024, we will be hosting a workshop at the European Parliament about arms trade corruption. We occasionally contribute to analysis papers and letters that are presented to relevant EU stakeholders or for wider campaigning purposes. We occasionally engage directly with EU stakeholders, particularly MEPs. We are a member of the European Network Against Arms Trades (TR number 198063521842-62) and occasionally contribute to their activities and publications.
