Mission & Interests

Goals: COMINROC is the main interlocutor of the Central Administration of the Spanish State and especially of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, in everything concerning the extractive industry. It represents the industrial rocks and minerals sector, before institutions, public and private entities and administrations, both nationally and internationally. COMINROC identifies, monitors and evaluates the legislative and regulatory proposals that have an impact on the companies associated with the members of COMINROC, in the areas of mining policy, taxation, health and occupational safety in the sector, quality of materials, land use planning, policies environmental, training, infrastructure, transport and all those areas that could affect them. It promotes the sustainable development of the sector, through technical improvement and the application of good practices in: production and product quality, environment, safety and health at work.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Industry Environment Health & Safety Circular Economy Taxation Employment Product Raw Materials CBAM Net ZERO Nature Restoration Law
Communication Activities: Given the enormous policy output in recent years, the organisation's work has been particularly intense regarding consultations and participatory processes in relation to legislative proposals on raw materials (critical and essential), nature restoration, soil health monitoring, net zero, and many other policies, strategies or initiatives launched by the EC or the EP, on climate, health and safety, industry, product, etc.. To this end, public consultations and questionnaires have been carried out, and briefing notes and reports have been produced on these issues. Meetings have also been held with MEPs, members of the EC, and representatives of the member states, throughout 2021, 2022 and 2023. From the communication point of view, is particularly noteworthy the organisation of the VII National Congress on Aggregates held in Oviedo in May 2022 and the Mining and Minerals Hall in Seville in October 2022, in which high-level EU representatives took part in presentations and round tables on EU policies
