Main EU Legislative Proposals: EU financial services regulation touching on the commodity markets, such as the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive/Regulation (MiFID II/MiFIR), Market Abuse Directive/Regulation, Benchmarks Regulation, European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), Regulation and Directive on prudential requirements for investment firms, Sustainable finance, Securities Financing Transactions Regulation, Brexit
Communication Activities: CMC Europe members regularly invite speakers from the EU institutions or national competent authorities to exchange views on developments in commodity markets at the CMCE Annual Members' Meeting. CMCE publications and comment letters are available on our website. CMC US, the US counterpart to CMCE, hosts a ‘State of the Industry’ conference at the beginning of every year to which it usually invites a number of European guests for its ‘European Focus’ panel.
