Mission & Interests
Goals: CECOD is a non profitable (French 1901 law) trade association. It is the Committee of European Manufacturers of Measuring and Distribution Equipment for Mobility, a non-profit association, providing facilities for its members to share technical information related to mobility energy measuring and dispensing technologies and processes.
CECOD members work closely with European Member States and Authorities in all relevant matters in support of its deep commitment to promote the unification of European Legal Metrology, Safety and Environmental legislation together with its subsequent enforcement.
Additional: CECOD is involved in OIML works at world level, and is carefully keeping track of relevant ISO works
At national level, CECOD tries to participate to any National works, especially when such might create competition distorsions.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: Our association is interested in all directives involved in fuel measuring systems such as Machinery, ATEX, MID, LV, EMC, etc... as well as other specific directives such as VR2 (2014/99) and 1999/92/EC (ATEX for workplaces)
Also interested in other forms of energy distributed to either vehicles or homes or businesses and transport vectors (boats, trucks, trains, aircrafts) such as Hydrogen, CH4 and electricity.
Communication Activities: Goal of our association is to share technical knowledge allowing harmonized implementation of directives, regulations, standards. Among goals, safety of public is also very important.
As such, CECOD cooperates with OIML, WELMEC and CEN/CENELEC as well as national committees via CECOD members

Complementary Information: Budget of CECOD is based on member's fees (2000 euros per member, 26 members) and a few sales of time slots to members during specific business trade show. When required, members allocate time (and benevolence) of their delegates to prepare and attend meetings held at OIML, CEN, WELMEC or EU Commission level (wgMI, wgATEX) to contribute to EU interest and expertise sharing.

Info Members: The CECOD members allocate time and resource via their delegates to the Exec board and technical committees. That allocation is free of charge (benevolence of members to the association). Those delegates prepare and in some cases attend meetings where CECOD is a liaison organization (such as wgMI, wgATEX, WELMEC, OIML, CEN) or an association representing the community of CECOD members.
