Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Advocacy with EU institutions and EU Member States to build support for the International Criminal Court (ICC) and international justice in the EU and around the world. Specific policies targeted include the Council decision and its associated action plan on the ICC; the EU Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy; the EU Policy Framework on Support to Transitional Justice; the EU Toolkit on Advancing the Complementarity Principle; and the EU Guidelines on Promoting Compliance with International Humanitarian Law.

Communication Activities: CICC representatives attend meetings and consultations organised by EU institutions, for example, meetings related to EU Human Rights Dialogues with third countries, meetings of the EU Working Party on Public International Law sub-area ICC (COJUR-ICC). CICC representatives have been invited to speak during EP hearings and other institutions’ meeting in previous years. The CICC representatives also participate in the Brussels-based Human Rights and Democracy network (HRDN) and conduct advocacy with the EU.
