Mission & Interests

Goals: CLIB (Cluster Industrial Biotechnology) is an international open innovation cluster of large companies, SMEs, academic institutes and universities as well as other stakeholders active in biotechnology and circular bioeconomy as a whole. The cluster comprises about 110 members with a share of about 25 % international members. The cluster mainly focuses on industrial biotechnology to provide solutions for the chemical industry: raw materials, biocatalysts, processes, products and technologies that result in monomers, fine chemicals or in their functionalisation. Pertinent project areas are identified by the CLIB team in conjunction with members in an iterative process. CLIB is a non-profit association, with its members shaping the cluster’s interests and activities. The cluster participates and coordinates several projects which cover different aspects of bioeconomy.

Communication Activities: Partner in the Horizon2020 or Horizon Europe projects FARMYNG (Innovation Action), FuturEnzyme (Innovation Action), BIOTRANSFORM (CSA), COUNTLESS (Innovation Action) and previously partner in the now finished projects BIOPEN (CSA), INMARE (Innovation Action), MPowerBIO (CSA). Member of the Biobased Industries Consortium BIC.
