Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Humanitarian and Development Sector PIN is a member of a number of different networks including Alliance2015, Concord, VOICE, among others. Within these networks PIN supports EU policies and actions that align with the organisation’s core values. Democracy Support and Human Rights PIN has been a member of the European Partnership for Democracy since 2008 and has recently been accepted as a member of the Team Europe Democracy Network. The TED Network will facilitate exchanging information and engaging in strategic dialogue. It will enhance cross-regional collaboration on democracy support and will support joint initiatives on the TED thematic priorities. Within the TED network, PIN expects to exchange information and create collaborations and synergies on democracy support. As a member of these networks listed above (Alliance2015, European Partnership for Democracy, Concord, VOICE, etc), PIN focuses specifically on policies that impact the international development and humanitarian sector. Some of the EU policies, legislative proposals or decisions include, but are not limited to: 1) Global Gateway Strategy 2) Funding for the Directorate-General for International Partnerships 3) Green New Deal 4) LIFE Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation 5) Horizon 2020 6) European Neighbourhood Policy 7) Global Europe: Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) 8) Human Rights and Democracy Action Plan (under NDICI) 9) Gender Action Plan (III) 10) European Media Freedom Act 11) Defense of Democracy Package 12) EU Foreign Interference Law
Communication Activities: Within the networks of which PIN is a member, it is expected that PIN will participate in a range of events (either independently or via the networks) in order to pursue the organisation’s mandate. Such actions can include: 1) Petitions, joint statements and papers either signing independently or as a member of a networks 2) Participation in conferences, events and working groups at both EU and international level in the countries where PIN operates 3) Participation in research to develop evidence for advocacy actions in the countries where PIN operates 4) Communication campaigns including multi-media, photo and art exhibitions, film screenings and public debates led by PIN’s Communication and Advocacy Department or as a member of a network. 5) EU Day Actions in countries where PIN operates 6) Visibility and external communications activities in relation to PIN’s EC-funded projects in Europe and countries where PIN operates
