Goals: FILIA was founded in 2000 and developed in the last 20 years as one of the most active feminist NGOs in Romania We want a society in which women’s rights and needs are respected. We believe in an intersectional approach that will include the diverse needs and interests of women, in order to promote gender equality in all public and private spheres. We work for gender equality and equality of opportunities, with a focus on preventing and combating violence against women and improving access to sexual health and reproductive rights for women.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Eu Gender Equality Strategy Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Justice and Fundamental Rights the Istanbul Convention EU directive in combating violence against women
Communication Activities: We are using our social media accounts (more than 80K followers) to promote updates about European policies or measures related to gender equality and GBV. We are including information about the European context in our research, such as the Gender Equality Barometer and Gender-Based Violence Barometer. We provided shadow reports and information about to local context to EU institutions.
