Mission & Interests
Goals: BDTA is a non-profit association with the mission of developing an Open & Trustworthy Techno-economic Ecosystem to advance towards full implementation of Building Digital Twin Environments across all the stakeholders and lifecycles of AECOO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Owner & Operator) Smart and Connected Real State and Infrastructure Assets, including occupants, through professional development and community.
Located in Antwerp (Belgium), the BDTA was founded under the umbrella of the Horizon 2020 project SPHERE, funded by the European Union’s H2020 programme under Grant Agreement No. 820805). The BDTA envisions the coordination of a multicriteria efficient decision-taking across all AECOO stakeholders by digitally duplicating building stock to support the Green Deal Transition in EU and the rest of the world.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: The AIDA report (dated 5.4.2022, A9-0088/2022, Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence, Rapporteur: Axel Voss - AIDA means "artificial intelligence in a digital age", (2020/2266(INI))), is definig a route for future EU regulations and demands more study and integration with specialized technicians and new standards in this field.
We are targeting policies related with privacy and Artificial Intelligence applications in residential buildings. More specifically: Privacy policies in home monitoring, Artificial Intelligence certification in building advance control, and General Data Protection Regulations applied to real-time data in residential buildings.
This is the back bone of the contribution that the BDTA (Building Digital Twin Association) wants to project on legislators and policy makers.
