Mission & Interests
Goals: The aim of Bridge EU is to provide strategic support to bridge the gap between recent social challenges and policies across Europe.
It aims to do this by:
• Influencing the formulation or implementation of EU policies and legislations, or the decision-making processes
• Ensuring that policy responses fill gaps in addressing social issues;
• Ensuring that advocacy strategies and actions respond to social challenges;
• Ensuring that EU funds are used to address social challenges;
• Supporting collaborations (“building bridges”) between and among public authorities, civil society organizations and private actors to address social challenges;
• Organising or participating in meetings, conferences or events;
• Contributing to or participating in consultations, hearings or other similar initiatives;
• Preparing or commissioning policy and position papers, amendments, open letters and other materials, and commissioning and carrying out research.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: Our activities over a wide range of EU legislations and policies in the field of EU funds, human rights, integration of marginalised groups, social inclusion, etc.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- EU Charter of Fundamental rights of the European Union
- UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability
- Racial Equality Directive
- Common European Asylum System and the pact on migration
- EU funds (ESF+, ERDF, AMIF, etc)
- European Disability Strategy,
- EU Roma Strategic Framework,
- EU Strategy on the rights of the child,
- EU Anti-racism Action Plan.
Communication Activities: As an example, Bridge EU recently drafted and coordinated a document titled 'Supporting Independent Living and Deinstitutionalisation:assessent criteria for EU funded call for proposal and projects in the 2021-2027 period', with input from from Stowarzyszenie Instytut Niezależnego Życia // Association Institute for Independent Living, Validity, European Network on Independent Living. This documented will be disseminated through various communication activities, such as sending to relevant contacts responsible for EU funds (E.g. desk officers), organising seminars for European Commission officials, etc.
