Mission & Interests
Goals: The Bioenergy Association represents the interests of the bioenergy sector in Finland. The association has 246 member organisations.
It represents the entire bioenergy sector from land ownership to forest and energy companies, and technology and research in the field. The association aims to promote the preconditions of the production, use, competitiveness and economy of bioenergy, biochar and peat. It fosters expertise and know-how in the sector and co-operation between its members, and improves the general operating preconditions of the industry.
The vision of the association is that Finland provides excellent conditions for producing sustainable and even carbon-negative biomass-based products. Side-streams of circular bioeconomy can be utilised in sustainable energy supply.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: Energy and climate policies, renewable energy legislation, production of heat, electricity and cooling with bioenergy, biofuels, biochar, renewable transportation, biogas, peat products, just transition, carbon sequestration, carbon capture, utilisation and storage, negative emission technologies
Communication Activities: We publish a web-based magazine (Bioenergia-lehti) focusing on bioenergy in Finnish. In addition we publish press releases, newsletters and organize webinars for our membership and other stakeholders.
The association also organizes 2-3 larger events annually on bioenergy, peat and carbon capture.
