Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: BBVA’s Brussels Office aims to share its experience and expertise with the European policy makers and contribute to economic recovery and prosperity. In this context, our follow-up exercise covers EU regulatory initiatives in the field of financial services (Sustainable Finance - EC Sustainable Finance Strategy and the initiatives derived from the Strategy -; Banking Union; prudential requirements CRR/CRD, Capital Markets, retail banking, payments, structural reforms in the banking sector, etc.), as well as other EU initiatives of interest for BBVA, for example in the area of Digital economy, Innovation and Technology, Corporate Governance and Company Law, Audit, Consumer Protection, Competition, Taxation, Corporate Social Responsibility, among others.
Communication Activities: The main communication activities undertaken by BBVA's EU Affairs Office include meetings with EU officials, speaking in public hearings or conferences organised by the EU Institutions, participating in public consultations held by the European Commission, carrying out research, preparing position papers and contributing to the work of Commission expert groups.
