Goals: Avoin yhteiskunta ry is an association founded in 2011 wit the purpose of promoting openness as a basic social value and to offer citizens ever better opportunities to participate in democratic decision-making. To support these goals, in 2013, the association began to develop the Faktabaari (FactBar), which strengthens fact-based public debate by means of fact-checking and digital information literacy. The association brings together actors who form a support community for the implementation and development work of Faktabaari mission and vision. Faktabaari mission: Faktabaari supports fact-based public debate, digital information literacy and participatory democracy in the digital age.
