Main EU Legislative Proposals: They include: the European Media Freedom Act, the Digital Services Act, the Digital Markets Act, the Media and Audiovisual Action Plan, the European Democracy Action Plan, advertising and consumer protection related proposals and consultations (Consumer Credit Directive, ePrivacy, political advertising, etc.), legislation on Copyright (Collective Rights Managements and Term Directives etc.) and consultation (Targeted consultation on the conditions for the remuneration of music performers and record producers from third (non-EU) countries for recorded music played in the EU), spectrum related proposals and consultations (Radio Spectrum Policy Programme and Radio Spectrum Policy Group Opinion on ITU-R World Radiocommunication Conference 2023), European Commission's policies towards tackling the spread of online Disinformation and funding, telecoms and network fees, including exploratory consultation on the future of the electronic communications sector, social dialogue in the audiovisual sector, generative artificial intelligence, cookie pledge.
Communication Activities: AER organises an annual conference often dealing with the issues presented above under "Main EU initiatives, policies and legislative files currently followed by your organisation". Last AER annual conference was held in the European Parliament in 2019.
